Quiet weekend

Well, we did not have much planned this weekend and we did stuff around the house. I finished the curtians for the boys room. Peter chose blue turtles and ....... Jamsion.......you guessed it.....red sock monkeys.
But when I did my big reveal Jamison freaked out and cried " there is nothing about those curtians that is correct, not in any respect" Thanks kid! What he had the problem with was that they were tied back, I guess in a 4yo's world curtians are rectangles. So now the look like this....and is quite dark in their room.Sunday we went on a walk through town.
Who knew that this sweet looking kid screamed for about 1/2 of the walk because he did not want to go and then proceeded to melt down during dinner because he did not want to eat chicken rice and veg. I just have to remind myself how cute he can be when he is flipping out.We also captured another troll...I think we might be getting close to getting them all. I lost count.

He also cleaned the shop, that was a pleasant surprise! I think he was getting ready for the fab shelving and storage containers that we are getting from Matt!

Weekend in MPLS

This weekend the boys and I went up to Mpls and had a great time! Thanks MA for letting us stay with you! We spent some time in our old neighborhood, took MA out for icecream, met up with some friends and ran around at the Eagle's Nest. Then off to MOA (crazy insane busy) and went to Underwater Aventures. The boys were so amazed buy the sharks and other sea creatures including the strangest of all...scuba divers! Sadly you cant see them in this picture but they were there! This turtle followed Peter through a section on the exhibit, he felt pretty special.
The boys are exhausted by the weekend...hopefully that means long naps today (so momma can get a nap also!)

Weekend with the Hansons

We had the pleasure of one more night with Heike before she drove back east and then over the pond to her home. The boys had a great time! and I bet you all did not know that we have a new member of our family. We figured that since there are no girls in the family we would just go out and get one.
Ok, not really, our girlfriends came for a visit, Lily and Lucy! The weekend was full of fun, playdoh...pizza making......
you would think that if the kids took ownership of making their creations they would eat them, not so much. Lily was the only one that truly tackled the pizza. Even though the weather was cold and wet we forced the kids to go on a nature hike. They thought it was a great idea until about 2/3 through the way. Then they were hungry and cold. We have to acclimate these kids to the long winter months somehow. We were also on a troll hunt. I never knew there was a Peter, Jamison and Lily troll. We captured them too! Thanks Hanson family for coming down for the weekend! We had a blast! Cant wait until the 3Bear lodge!

That is my boy!

So lets examine this picture.....

snake around his neck
speedracer gloves
bracelet on wrist
sun visor around waist...visor out the back
pushing shopping cart
who says this boy does not have style!
The boys visited GGma Lorraine this morning! Delivered flowers, ggmas love flowers.
And my favorite old co-worker came back from a fabulous trip to Italy and while I cursed her under my breath when she was gone I am glad to hear that she had a great time. I had one request...Pelllini coffee. THANKS GWYN! this will keep me happy for a long time! (although she cursed me because she lugged this around for days!)

Voting Day and beautiful weather

The past couple days have been amazing! 70's and sunny! Just makes me wonder when the snow is coming. After school we enjoyed a picnic lunch. Our picnic table was put away for the winter so we had to go old school. It was Keiko's birthday yesterday so we made some beautiful artwork for her (dont look Keiko it is coming in the mail!)

And today we part took in our civic duty. We voted. Here are Jamison and Peter discussing who they should vote for on our way to the polls....in reality they were wondering if they will get a sticker.
We VOTED...how about you?! and yes the nice people at the senior center gave us a sticker. And how convienient...we had to walk right past the swedish bakery. We just had to pick up some rosettes! A reward and an aweome treat. There are two left...hopefully they will last until dad gets home from work.We also were able to "capture" one more troll...a very productive day! I dont know if the one below counts...I saw it in the window of a building....a little creepy if you ask me.
OH......HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Halloween and Heike

We were all very excited for Heike to come and visit. SO...we took her on a tour of Mount Horeb, then to the Cave of the Mounds and then apple picking. 2 action packed days! and not to mention HALLOWEEN! I think the boys have WAY to much excitement in their lives!
Found another troll to check off our list.
And here are the boys on top of "Boy Mountain"
The boys were so brave this time at the cave (we tried this last year and they were very ready to leave half way through the tour). It also helped that they handed out some rock treasures to everyone, since it was halloween, and the boys were thrilled! Although I should have paid more attention to what they were handing out because the boys kept asking what the rocks were called and I could not remember them all.
We also carved our pumpkins...and picked a special one for her and Alex, who was unfortunatley not able to make the trip. This one is for you Alex!!! Peter chose the marker route to creat beautiful pumpkins.Jamison on the other hand rolled up his sleeves and dug right in! THey look pretty good! Not sure what Pat created ( the one with all the dots) but he assured me that the geeks will know what that is.
And for halloween..the boys were Elmo, because he was a friendly red monster (says Jamison)
and a the transformer Optimus Prime (he saw it in a catelog). The were troopers....and even went to houses with decorations! (last year...not so much). They were a little nervous about coming across a zombie because they heard that they eat your brains. (thanks Pat) Peter was prepared and would put his mask on if he saw anything that would resemble a zombie but as Jamison said "so far so good, no zombies!" There were only two houses that they refused to go to. Not bad.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
