Report card and Labor Day weekend

First week of school, all in all, was pretty good. Here are the boys coming off of the school bus for the first day of school Jamison said that it was "FANTASTIC!" and Peter said that he was a little sad. I think he was a little overwhelmed by all the kids and not knowing anyone's names. By day 3 he came home and reported that he has 3 friends, but only remembers 2 of their names, but they all know his name. By day four he was planning playdates. I think we have a little social butterfly on our hands. Jamison came home from school and reported that he had received a "gerbil" warning. After a few questions we still had no clue what that was. After his 3rd gerbil warning of the week we had to sit down and talk. Find out that they are "verbal" warnings....and that he had interrupted the teacher. I think if he gets another warning we might talk with the teacher and find out what is really going on. The boys survived a week with no naps, but bedtime was 7:15...we are looking forward to week 2! For the weekend, Pat and I enjoyed a Badger Football game...by ourselves! Boys had a sitter and they had fun! Pat and I, on the otherhand, were overwhelmed by the crazy college life and were feeling really old! I spent a lot of time watching the student section...it was crazy. It was like this many-celled organism that moved like a blob with no brain. Thanks Carol for the tickets! we had a good time! Sunday we headed out to Devils Lake for some hiking...along with loads of other people! It was a beautiful day! The boys did a great job climbing all the rocks and Jamison claimed that the hike was "AMAZING!" (he is one for drama) "Hey dad, I can see our car from up here!" The men on top of Balanced Rock, our destination.
The boys did great! on their 3 mile hike through Devils Lake, a little quiet at the end but I think that was because they were super tired. After a work out like that we were all hungry so we headed to a chinese buffet...Peter said it was his favorite restaurant...but the one bad thing is that there were so many good things he ate too much and his belly hurt. How can you argue when you have a meal of "brown chicken", melon, shrimp for Peter and chocolate pudding. We were on the vomit patrol for a few minutes but were ok. Early to bed for the Cullen boys.
